e.construct Employees Awarded PCI’s George D. Nasser Award
e.construct congratulates Adam Sevenker and Mostafa Abo El-Khier, who were both awarded PCI’s 2025 George D. Nasser Award for their co-authored paper “Measurements of Rotational Stiffness for Precast Concrete Girder Transport Vehicles, Part 2.” This paper was published in the July – August 2024 edition of the PCI Journal by Dr. Chuanbing “Shawn” Sun, Adam D. Sevenker, and Mostafa Abo El-Khier.
This paper presents and summarizes field measurements of the rotational stiffness for three transport vehicles equipped with the following different types of suspensions: leaf, combined air and leaf, and hydraulic suspensions. The rotational stiffness was determined based on the tilt of the vehicles under applied loads at various eccentricities. The collected field measurements further improve the vehicle rotational stiffness database in the United States.
